OPTIONS

Tomorrow April comes in like a lamb (chop). There are four Saturdays during this (hopefully) bucolic period. Tradition holds that the final four pick the golf courses. Scott Dennis gets first pick. He said Pelican Pointe or Palm Aire are acceptable. So I made some calls. We can play Pelican, but the first tee time would be 7:45 a.m. The alternative is Palm Aire and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on the Lakes Course. A decision has to be made by 8 a.m. Tuesday. Since Scott is comfortable with both options, I need some input from members. What I really need to know is how many members will boycott if they have to get up early. Okay, gang, fire away with your answers.

GOLF SERENOA SATURDAY 8 MARCH 2014 7:31 A.M. - RSVP

Normally I get tee times on Monday. I waited this week because Palm Aire thought they could fit us in. They couldn’t. So I started calling Tuesday morning and guess what – this is the heaviest time of the year for golf bookings. We had a choice of teeing off at ten in the morning, which usually means a five hour round. I took first off at Serenoa for two reasons (1) we’ll be done at 11:30 a.m. or noon, and (2) the course is centrally located between our northern golfers and our southern compatriots. Next week I’ll get us a tee time on Monday so we can get back to our 8:30 a.m. normal schedule.
