Wow! It is going to be close. I visited Shane Rawley at lunch today and he was still hammering away at the new Shaners at 6500 Superior Avenue in Gulf Gate. He is going to have to work through the night but we will be at his new place Saturday afternoon for the party (Plan B was to stay at Serenoa). The restaurant seats 40. It is just the right size so no one gets shunted off to an obscure table. All the food is paid for, which brings us to another conundrum. The $42.00 we spend at Serenoa today includes breakfast, lunch, two drinks and a round of golf. Nice deal, but if one consumes two meals at Serenoa, what happens when one arrives at Shaners? Are you going to bypass Shane’s famous pizza? My recommendation is each player eat breakfast and skip lunch, or else grab a bite after nine holes. The entire menu (see below) is paid for. If you want hard liquor, bring your own (I will bring club soda, tonic, lemons, limes and cranberry juice). You can buy beer and wine from Shane. Now, since nothing in life is guaranteed, and Shane might find out his ovens won’t fire up, we will stay at Serenoa and the management has been so apprised. But I have my money on the old baseball player. Everyone keep those cell phones handy so you can alert your invitees. Party On!

$42.00 – Includes breakfast, lunch and two drinks.
I also have two tee times Wednesday at Sarasota National at 11 a.m. Cost - $39.00. This is our last chance to conclude Operation Rectification. The money I lost them last month will be redeemed if we get 6 to 8 players. Please check your schedules. I’ll need a response by late Tuesday.

Okay, I was too busy to spell check. We are going to Esplanade, not Explanade. GPS doesn’t work at this course, so take S.R. 70 east to Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Turn left. Then turn right on Rangeland Boulevard. This will take you to a stone marquee that states ‘Esplanade.’
I’m organizing a concealed weapons class Sunday 16 November 2014. It will be held at the Manatee Gun and Archery Club (Google for address). I have just two more openings, so first come, first serve. The class is one and a half hours followed by an hour of shooting. I will have documentation and fingerprint cards required by the state. Anyone interested in getting their CW permit is encouraged to attend. The course will provide the handguns. I have the ammunition.
