By a vote of 13 to 3 the PDGA chose to abrogate the ‘no practicing on the course’ rule. This becomes effective Saturday and not does not affect The Scribe’s penalty strokes from last week.

PALM AIRE SATURDAY 27 DECEMBER 2014 8:30 A.M SHOTGUN - RSVP
We Have a rules conundrum that needs to be resolved. Last week at Pelican Pointe The Scribe got to the course very early. Bored, The Scribe played two practice holes prior to teeing off. Question: Is this an unfair advantage? Scott Dennis and Jim McLellan seemed to think it was. But Chris West and Greg Palawski said the action was no different from hitting balls on a practice range. Al Liskunas scratched his head and said “I need to think about it.” Now, in order to be purer than Caesar’s wife, I’m instructing Big Al to DQ my round (it is an empty gesture – one needs ten rounds to qualify and I’ll have over 20 rounds by spring). But let’s resolve this issue internally. We have already abrogated one PGA rule (you can’t drag a rake through a sandtrap prior to striking the ball – now you can). This being a Democracy, I want to hear from each of you. So, after announcing your intentions to play or not play Palm Aire this Saturday, I want you to register one of two numbers – (1) There are no restrictions on what a player can do prior to teeing off, or (2) playing practice holes are verboten! If you want to add commentary to your numerical vote, go ahead.
