UPDATE FOR 24 JANUARY 2015
The newsletter will arrive about noon today. Based on the email responses I’ve received, there is confusion about our weekend plans. Here is what the weather is telling me at 9 a.m. Friday morning. It is going to rain hard tonight. It is expected to carry over into the morning. I live two minutes from Palm Aire. I will have my phone on by 7 a.m. (941.228.5526). Remember – it could be pouring rain on Clark Road and clear on University Parkway. You never know. But I will be able to tell you. Right now we have six people who are interested in playing golf Sunday if Saturday is a rainout. It would be nice to get two more. If you call me between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday I will give you the best information on course conditions and perhaps save you from a long ride. Anyone waking up Sunday morning who suddenly decides he or she wants to play – no problem. There will be plenty of room. Palm Aire has an 8:30 a.m. shotgun Sunday and Saturday.

MOTHER NATURE MIGHT NO COOPERATE
Attention PDGA members – the weatherman Thursday said there is a 90 percent chance of morning showers Saturday. Now, we have seen this before, and we have played golf even in the face of the most pessimistic predictions. This league is rarely rained out. But it might happen. On Sunday the same weatherman is calling for zero chance of rain. And there is a 8:30 a.m. shotgun on the Lakes Course. So, if we can get more than half the league on board, we can have a sanctioned event. This will require fifteen participants. If we have less than that, we will play golf but it will not count toward the standings. What I need by 5 p.m. Friday is an email response from each of you. After 5 p.m. you must call me (941.228.5526). So, check your Sunday schedule. If it is open, come join us. The Scribe.
